Dr Kate Leech
Clinical Psychologist | Wellington

About me
I offer a warm, non-judgemental space where you can bring whatever you're carrying, at your own pace. Together, we’ll work to understand what’s going on, make sense of the stress and emotions that come with it, and develop practical tools to support you now and in the future.I provide compassionate, evidence-based assessment and therapy for adults navigating a wide range of challenges, drawing on cognitive behavioural therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, schema therapy, and trauma-focused approaches.Feeling genuinely heard and understood is often what makes deeper change possible. I take time to understand the full picture of your experience and tailor therapy to what will be most meaningful, effective, and helpful for you.

Frequently Asked Questions
Where are your offices?
Level 1 Zephyr House, 82 Willis St, CBD, Wellington 6011.How long are sessions?
Sessions typically run for 50 minutes. How often will we meet?
Most people start with weekly sessions, especially early on, since that tends to build momentum fastest. As things progress, we can move to fortnightly or less frequent check-ins — whatever suits where you're at.What does it cost?
Sessions are $220. I am also a registered provider with ACC Sensitive Claims, so if you are eligible, your sessions may be funded through ACC.What can you help with?
I work with adults facing a wide range of challenges, including anxiety and stress, burnout and overwhelm, career and life transitions, trauma, low mood, and general self-understanding. I draw on CBT, ACT, Schema Therapy, and trauma-focused approaches, and match the approach to you rather than running everyone through the same process.Who do you work with?
Primarily adults (18+). If you're enquiring on behalf of a younger person, feel free to get in touch. I'm happy to talk through whether it's the right fit.Do you offer in-person or online sessions?
Both. We can meet in my offices in Wellington CBD, or online - whichever suits you the best.
